Homework

Homework can really help to reinforce what your child is learning in school. It also gives you as parents a chance to become involved in the learning process.

Soon after they start school, children will start to bring words and books home to share with you. As they progress through Years 1 and 2 they will have weekly spellings to learn and a Maths homework sheet. Parents are asked to continue to share books and listen to their children read regularly at home.

We are keen to foster a love of books and reading so we encourage children in Key Stage 2 to continue to read regularly with adults at home. Homework is set every week to consolidate work done in school and also to help develop independence. This work is differentiated to meet individual needs.

If parents have any concerns about homework set, they should talk to the class teacher.
